It has been, to put none too fine a point on it, a shitty week. Everyone needs a place where they can relax and get their minds off what's happened; to that end, Wash figures it's about time for another movie night, and goes for a comedy this time. Sure, Clue is technically a murder mystery with a slow build, but he's pretty sure people will enjoy it as long as he's up front about it.

There's tables full of snacks and drinks set up, per usual. Extra blankets are piled on the arms and backs of chairs and sofas, because blankets make things better and therefore need to be available. There's a sign outside the door with the movie's title, MPAA rating, and a brief summary, along with a note at the bottom: Movie night is neutral territory. Might as well make it known up front.

Wash

Wash is puttering around the room, putting stacks of plates on the snack tables and generally making sure things are ready to go. He'll get the movie started once more people show up.

Connie gives the door frame a light knock as she steps in with a tray of something in her free hand. She missed the last time Wash had hosted a movie night but right about now she could use a little entertainment.

"Do you always organize these?"

Dave shows up a little early to claim himself a good nesting spot, the blankets and pillows from his room tucked under both arms. Pausing in the doorway, his eyebrows arch up over his shades at the blankets already draped over every surface.

"Goddamn, you're way ahead of me on the cozyparty prep." He nods sagely and drags his own contributions in to dump on the biggest and squishiest couch. "We might as well do the whole blanket fort thing too at this point. Having to dig our way out of the sea of fabric after the inevitable fort collapse would probably count as a team-building exercise."

Victor pokes his head into the room and makes a beeline for Wash, Makkachin padding at his heels.

"I've been looking for you," he said, brow creased faintly, like he's worried about something but trying not to show it. "Can we talk? It'll be quick."

Dave

Dave is without his normal partner in movie-watching this time around. Which is a damn shame because, besides the obvious reasons why that sucks, Clue is a fucking gem of human cinema and explaining that it was based on a board game would have been hilarious.

So Dave has gotten very cozy by himself to make up for this. He got there a bit early and snagged the best spot on the plushest couch, right up against the arm so he can do a proper comfy lean. He's arranged against the couch arm and back to further accentuate the coziness, and thoroughly burrito'd himself within a blanket.

Unfortunately, it's only after he is thoroughly nested that he realizes he didn't grab snacks and drink first. Groaning, Dave sinks further into his lean over the arm of the couch and tilts his head backwards to look up at whoever happens to be walking by.

"Wanna be my best friend?"

Somehow, he manages to deadpan and whine a little at the same time, it's unreal.

Connie's halfway to the snack table herself when she hears that voice come from just past her left elbow and she pauses mid-step. With a quirked brow she takes a moment to stare at the kid, then his cocoon of blankety comfort before it clicks. Anything that snuggly's gonna limit your reach, and the coffee table in front of his section of the sofa is empty, so...

"You forgot to get snacks, didn't you?"

Cass is not sure what "Clue" is, to be perfectly honest, and she probably won't be able to follow the fast-paced and often word-based humor that makes up this gem of a film, but she wants to get to know the people around her and she likes watching movies and TV even when she doesn't quite get it.

Dave asking if she wants to be his best friend is... well, she's unfortunately going to take him literally on that one, speaking in her slow, occasionally-pausing-in-awkward-places cadance.

"I don't know. But I would... like to be your friend."

"What do you think?"

Yeah, Pidge is still a little sore from their scuffle on the briefing after the Silent Horizon. At him specifically and just in general, so his weird whine is not exactly endearing. At all.

Connecticut

Connie's been careful to grab one of the fluffier blankets before she settled in for the movie with her plate of snacks tucked comfortably into the corner of one of the many sofas. Even though she brought more than enough sliced apples for everyone she's got another she's been idly carving thin slices out of with her pocket knife. It's enough to keep her hands busy and distracted as she takes the opportunity to not only watch the movie but watch the people who'd come to see it.

Fluffy blankets are good, fluffy friends are even better, so Ken's settling in nearby with one of each - a blanket around his shoulders and a white dog sprawled across his lap. There's something a little bit stiff about the way he sits down with that blanket, but...everyone's doing it, he keeps reminding himself. Nobody can call him out on doing something kind of childish when there are people twice or three times his age building blanket forts, can they?

And also people who have got to be at least twice his age carving apples into -

"...bunnies?"

Tracer

Like anyone used to having at least one voice near them at all times, Lena has is attracted to the sounds of other voices. Without Emily or Winston around to keep her company, she's finding herself getting itchy -- and lonely. So, when she passes by the door for movie night, she naturally invites herself in after briefly glancing at the title.

She's more interested in the company, after all. After the nightmare that was the Faceless, she's ready to put it behind her -- and for the most part, she already has.

Lena stops by the snack table first and drags herself over to the nearest pile of blankets and people, clearly not afraid to invite herself into the party. Without preamble, she sets the pile of snacks in the center of everyone, teeth caught around a slice of apple that she hadn't been able to resist before arriving.

"I ain't seen this one before. Have you?"

Cass is, herself, nested in a couple different blankets. She is very fond of soft warm things, probably moreso because she so rarely had either until recently in her life.

She shakes her head at Lena's question. "I haven't... seen many. Movies."

Re: Tracer

"Yep." Ray says, after commandeering a bowl of popcorn for himself.

"It's a fairly solid movie. But it's a better comedy than it is a mystery, so if you're the type who likes to figure out whodunit, I wouldn't suggest trying that here."

"Hmm?" Distracted, Sombra has to peel her attention away from Reaper's brilliant silhouette across the room, fully surrounded by the rest of the attendees; despite the fact that they'd left at the same time, Sombra intentionally wandered in late just to spectate the miserable aftershocks of coaxing him into doing this. "No. Haven't even heard of half the movies they watch here."

Snacking on popcorn from a little bowl, she lets it snap between her teeth. "But I never watched that many to begin with, anyway."

"Thanks." People who bring snacks for everyone are something of a rarity in Wash's life, and he knows to appreciate them. "And yeah, I tend not to show movies I haven't already seen." That way lies ruin.

Victor

No matter what the contents of Victor's social media accounts may indicate, he and Yuuri are in fact independent human beings fully capable of functioning without being within arms' reach of each other. As such, he shows up to movie night toting his dog rather than his boyfriend. He then claims a plate of food, sampling just about everything available, and eschews the chairs and couches in favor of sprawling on the floor with a blanket stolen from one of the piles.

Makkachin flops on top of him and immediately falls asleep. Victor glances at the people around him, chewing and swallowing a bite of his pizza.

"Are these movie nights 'talking' or 'no talking'?"

"Depends on who you're sitting by and if they've seen the movie, I think," Connie answers from her seat on one of the sofas, but she's already moving to sit by the newcomer on the floor with a small smile. It's still a bit of a novelty for her to see dogs again. Just. Any Earth-world pet really.

"I think we've spoken before. That's Makkachin, right?"

Victor's dog is more interesting than his boyfriend (sorry, Yuuri). Robbie wouldn't dare bring his cat to a movie screening, but, when he sees that Victor has brought his giant fluffball, Robbie quickly grabs a blanket and stakes out a spot on the floor nearby.

The dog promptly falls asleep, because that is exactly how all of Robbie's plans go. So there are no stealth pettings.

"Talking, I think. I think it's kind of a drop-in, drop-out scene. I'm not staying for the whole movie."

Chief

The Chief is not good at casual socialization, but Legion movie night gives him a low-pressure means to be around the rest of the team and he knows how it works. You go there. You sit on a couch and eat snacks and try to make sense of fiction. You say polite things about it even when the characters make very bad decisions. He can do this.

And so a very tall, very scarred man quietly gathers a plate, finds a spot on one of the bigger couches, and settles himself into the blankets.

He has never seen "Clue" before. He's never even seen a comedy before. It's going to be another educational evening.

"It's - think of it this way," Kubo was explaining, as he lead Beetle to the movie lounge. "A while ago some people put on a play, and someone else used a machine to record them performing the play. So now that performance exists forever, like it was written down, and people can watch it any time."

Kubo hadn't been this excited since he was showing his mother around the ship for the first time, and even now, his excitement was compounded by the fact that she was there too. Both of his parents were alive, and this time, the overbearing evil threatening to kill them was too distant a horror to worry about day to day. He'd never had so much to be happy about at one time.

"But first I want you to meet my friends! Some of them will be here," he said, tugging his father into the room.

Reaper had to come up with some crazy excuse to justify his reasons for being here. Or some stupid reason that people can't debunk because they don't know him well enough, like Clue is his favorite fucking movie of all time or something. Not that he expects anyone to believe that for a hot second. He at least knows of the movie, even if it was way before his time. With a soft snort at the Neutral Territory note, he pushes the door open.

He doesn't have any issues with how people will react when he enters the room. Like an unwanted cowboy walking through the swinging doors of a saloon, he only pauses for the briefest moment before turning towards the very back of the room. Armed with nothing but his new outfit and mask (no ammunition strapped to his chest or belt, no gun in his hand), he presents himself as non-threatening as possible. Just intimidating enough that people won't approach him too easily, but not so intimidating that they'll run to someone else for conversation. Trying to keep the focus off of Sombra while she does her digging is his objective.

Speaking of which, the only thing he's really keeping a look out for right now is her. He'd purposely avoided setting any kind of time, since they're not really supposed to be affiliated in any way aside from Legionnaires.

She intentionally shows up later than Reaper, slipping in with a tall pitcher of pale, interstellar ale: her contribution to the long table of snacks and beverages left out for any wandering Legionnaires...and maybe just the slightest apology to Wash for treating his guests to floor popcorn the last time she was here.

A few adjustments— nudging snack bowls aside and finding a place to set down what she's brought— and her eyes stay absently trained on Reaper where he's bristling at the opposite end of the room, dour and stern and surrounded by everyone he wants nothing to do with. Obvious curiosity so distracting that she misses her measurement on sliding in the pitcher of beer, a bowl of crackers pressed to the edge and starting to dangerously overturn—

"No manches—!"

Wash might be grinning, just a bit. He can't help it - there's something about Clue that just makes him happy every time he watches it. It's a rare expression for him to wear, but that doesn't make it any less bright.
