Who| Claire and Kid Q
What| Claire is making a formal complaint
Where| Kid's office
When| After this!
Warnings/Notes| Claire is in her element
Claire Dearing knew how to navigate these waters; this was her kind of mission, conflict she could face with a toothy grin. Today, she is lodging a complaint with HR. Or, in this world, the closest applicable office she could find. Here, that would be Kid Quantum's office. She's done her research, made an appointment, and is showing up exactly on time with a data pad.
Yes, she's brought notes from one single encounter.
She does have her concerns, though; Kid Quantum wasn't exactly a name that inspired confidence in her as far as business practices go. No better way to find out then to just ask, and besides she needed to notify someone that this Rico character might not have been the best investment.
She knocks sharply on the door frame and leans in with a smile.
"Hello, I'm Claire Dearing, I'm here for my appointment."

She knocks sharply on the door frame and leans in with a smile.
"Hello, I'm Claire Dearing, I'm here for my appointment."

"Right on time," she says, setting her omnicom aside and gesturing. "Close the door behind you and pull up a chair, I'm eager to hear what you've got to say."
no subject
"I'm sorry this is our introduction and I want to assure you that I wouldn't be here if I thought it was at all frivolous, but I do have concerns about a fellow Legionnaire who's recently arrived."
She understands that without any sort of previous rapport built up this could come across as whining, but she's not here to deliver an ultimatum or suggest punishment but merely draw attention to what could potentially be a greater problem down the line.

But that's a problem for future Kid Quantum; current Kid Quantum sighs heavily.
"And I'd just approved a new monitor duty schedule, too," she says, mostly to herself. Then she straightens her shoulders and looks Claire in the eye.
"All right, tell me what happened."

She does look a little apologetic at Kid's comment, becuase she realizes this isn't exactly something anyone wants to hear or deal with. She's not the type to sit quietly by, though;
Clare glances at her datapad before continuing, "On [insert appropriate date and time here] I encountered a Legionnaire named 'Judge Dredd' who had confiscated all the sugar in the mess hall and was claiming it was a 'controlled substance'. I sat with him and cited Legion regulations in hopes of clearing up the matter, and he attacked me with a nightstick." At this point she leans forward slightly, "Now, it wasn't a grievous attack and I didn't need medical attention, but later in our conversation he attempted it again with greater force; at that point I felt it was safer to extract myself from the situation, but I worry that someone like that might be capable of greater harm if further challenged."
Little does she know that he's actually been in a full out brawl with Gary the Space Raptor.

"Thank you for informing me," she says evenly. "I've been hearing all sorts of things about Judge Dredd today, and none of them good. Let me reassure you that I will make it clear to him that he will not be permitted to continue casually assaulting sentients, especially not his teammates." She takes a deep breath and lets it out. "I'll have him issue you an apology. Do you want it in writing or would you prefer it in person?"
no subject
She settles back in her seat and drapes a hand over the side. "I hadn't expected anything when I came in; I had merely wanted to express concerns ... but yes, I would like an apology." A brief pause as if she really needs to think about what form she wants it in; "I would like it in writing, if that's possible. That way I can frame it and keep it as a reminder in case he finds himself struggling for motivation to be a civil human being. Er, sentient."

She sits back in her chair and pinches the bridge of her nose.
"While I'm aware that everyone who's been kidnapped here by Time Trapper comes from a wide variety of realities and time periods, with a wide variety of social mores, some behaviors are simply unacceptable."

cough private milita/former military/not going into detail at all"but it was all normal humans with normal weapons and normal training."She might be emphasizing normal. "Having everyone here armed with otherworldly powers, with no organized vetting process in place besides this 'Time Trapper' guy, it would be a pace of mind knowing steps are being taken to ensure everyone's safety. I want to thank you for that."
Rico might not be Indominus Rex, but after her epxerience she can appreciate actually making security a priority, and not trying to battle it with money or reputation.

"Yeah, the Time Trapper isn't so much an organized vetting process as a squaj who needs to quit sprocking around in the time stream and causing us problems," she says. The Legion is well-known for being foul-mouthed and not one of their leaders has been an exception, Kid Quantum included. "Also, not always a 'guy'. It's weird and complicated, time travel nass usually is."
She shakes her head. "No thanks are necessary. Ensuring everyone's safety, at least as much as possible in an organization like the Legion, is vital to our ability to function."
