This is the longest Fareeha has been on her own. No parent chaperoning her, no guarded escorts, no visits with her extended Overwatch family like Reinhardt or Jack. Gabriel was at least here, so that was good, and she has made friends with some of the other Legionnaires, but without guidance and a set routine she's gotten restless.

So, she's made her own routine.

It includes mature things that she thinks would make her mother happy; healthy foods, time spent training, reading through the news or any books she could find. At the end of the day, though, she's still a kid, so there are times you can find her on the observation deck with a piece of cake and a litany of colorful threads spread out as she spends her time deftly making friendship bracelets. It's a fun hobby, and leaves her with something to gift the people who have been nice and helpful to her, but it's also a distraction so she's not constantly thinking about how much she misses home.

If you've spoken to her once or twice (and weren't mean) there's probably a bracelet in there for you.

She looks up, holding tightly on the end of the current bracelet so it doesn't unravel. She leans back slightly, trying to be polite but visibly slightly unsettled.

"Making bracelets."

Not going to give her any more information than she has to.

"Ah." Widowmaker leaned forward so her forearms rest on the rail before her, still looking down at Fareeha. "An interesting hobby. It takes deft fingers."

"It's not that hard ..."

Widowmaker is still making her nervous, otherwise she might have offered to teach her, but she doesn't stop or attempt to leave. She works at finishing this current bracelet and already starts planning out the next.

"What hobbies do you do?"

Except shoot people, obviously.

Shooting people wasn't a hobby; it was a job. She just happened to like her job. Isn't that all anyone ever wanted: to enjoy doing their job?

"I dance," she replied. It was true, even if she didn't dance like she once did. Such a passion never truly left her, and it was a nice way to keep fit and limber. She just did it in the privacy of her quarters.

Still, Fareeha's demeanor wasn't lose on Widowmaker. "Do I frighten you, child?"

Dancing ... it was unexpected, but then Fareeha quietly chastised herself for being unfair; she knew all sorts of people that carried around all kinds of weapons and were considerate and compassionate and fun.

But then the biggest difference here was this woman was a stranger; Fareeha didn't know her, and all the variables that came with it made her carrying a weapon that much more of a concern.

"I'm not ... frightened ... I'm just, wary." She answers honestly, looking up at Widowmaker with a sincere expression.

"Not an unwise decision." Widowmaker was supposed to be something to be wary of. To fear. As per Talon's plan.

"But there is nothing to worry about. I do not hurt children." Unless specifically ordered to by Talon.

She continues to look up at Widowmaker, her expression unchanging.

"Who do you hurt?"

"Those who are the enemy, the targets of my missions and those trying to hurt me." Standard stuff. So what if those enemies and targets are not what society considers 'bad guys'?

Fareeha considers that, finally turning her attention back to her bracelets for a moment. They were all here to fight the same battle.

Without looking up, she asks her next question; "Why do you carry your rifle with you?"

That, at least, was true. Widowmaker was there to end the threat from Chronoblivion just like everyone else in the Legion. There was no question about that. As for her rifle... Widowmaker decided to give Fareeha the truth.

"I am protecting someone important to me. I carry it with me in case I need to use it to keep her safe." Luckily Sombra was sleeping safely in her habitat. For now.

Some of her tension eases away and she pauses to give a side-glance up at Widowmaker. That was a sentiment she could get behind; protecting someone who needed it.

"You don't trust this place to keep her safe?"

Widowmaker shook her head slowly. "There are enemies within this place." From both Chronoblivion and Overwatch. "The Legion is working to weed them out... But I also know the one I am protecting has a knack for being in the middle of trouble."

Usually because Sombre caused most of it.

Those words seems to put Fareeha at ease a little bit. She's still not entirely relaxed, but she's not so outwardly tense anymore.

"What kind of enemies?"

"There is a being that is threatening all of existance," Widowmaker explaine, choosing not to reference Overwatch at all. "This being has sent minions in advance to weaken us. Some have infiltrated the Legion or the government."

"You're talking about Chrono Oblivion? I know about that. You think he has spies here?"

Her brows furrow, and she thinks back over the people she's met so far. Were any of them spies?

"If the words of one of its heralds, spoken to whom the herald believed to be allies, are true." A faint smile tugged at her lips. "The Legion is the greatest obstacle Chronoblivion faces; it would be foolish to believe it has not infiltrated the organization."

Fareeha looks out into space, thinking about it. Perhaps, with this news, she shouldn't be putting herself out in the open like this. She's just trying to do the right thing, but sometimes, it was hard to figure out what that was.

"I didn't think of it like that."

"Do not worry about it. You are still young; you should cherish this time in your life." Widowmaker looked out the deck windows at the Earth down below.

"Once it is gone, you will never get it back."

She glances back at Widowmaker, "Is it safe, not worrying about it?"

"For you? Oui." Widowmaker turned her head a bit toward Fareeha. "I am here. No one hides from my sight."

It was odd, talking to her like this, but the fact that Fareeha was a child and still full of wonder and potential made it easier. It also helped that she had no idea who she was. It was always easier talking to people that don't automatically assume she was a psychopath that would kill them at any given moment.

As if she would bother wasting a bullet.

"Thank you." The rifle might still be a little off-putting, but maybe she was wrong about this woman. Maybe she'd make a bracelet for her too .... "My mom's a sniper, actually." She says, making a little small-talk as she goes back to working.

Had Widowmaker not had her emotions sapped from her or she lacked control, she would've smirked a bit at that tidbit of information, knowing what fate had befallen the child's mother. But that was something she was going to hold onto until the opportune moment. Besides, there was no sport in ruining a child's impression of their parents when they were still young and impressionable. The tears were so much sweeter when they came from adult eyes.

"Impressive. It takes a lot of skill. And hardened guts."

"She's really great." Blissfully unaware of the secrets Widowmaker guards, Fareeha looks up beaming with a prideful glow. For as much as the other agents inspire her, her mother is her entire world at this point.

"I am sure she is." Was. Widowmaker could at least respect Ana Amari's skill; she was just better than the woman. "Do you plan on growing up to be a sniper as well?"

"Mmmm, I don't know. It's cool, but it'd be fun to have a warhammer like Reinhardt's!" And there's the inspiration for her venture into heavy weaponry and armor (among other things).
