Blue Rose ❄ 001
Who| Karina Lyle and YOU!
What| Multiple Choice!
Where| Legion World!
When| Irrelevant
Warnings/Notes| Shouldn't be anything big.
Sim Room: It had taken some nagging, but Karina had gotten what she wanted from Brainiac 5. Namely, getting him to hook up the Anywhere Machine to the sim room's computers so that she didn't actually have to program stuff that she didn't know. She'd tried for about ten minutes, gotten frustrated, and gone down to the Science Labs to bend his ear about it. Karina had to give him credit, he worked fast. With only the caveat being that she couldn't peek into anyone's past without permission, she had what she wanted.
First thing she did? Procure a copy of her entire discography. Second... Playing around with the villains on these computers was useless. They had such stupid names. And there was one question that, finally, she could have answered. One-on-one, could she win?
The sim room is marked 'occupied', but it's usually safe to walk in anyway. Usually. This time, however, whoever's coming in might have to duck a burst of blue-green flame coming off from the side. Hope whoever walked in didn't just get their hair done, because it's steamy in there. Between the half-melted pillars of ice, twisted, melted metal, the blue-green fires flickering, it's hard to tell that this place was modeled after a jail. Blue Rose herself is glancing around from behind the stairs, reloading her freezing liquid guns. She doesn't seem to notice the fact that she's got a guest, so if they want to halt the action, it's up to them. Or they could join in. Either way.
Hab Area: One common misconception about hab areas that some new Legionnaires have is that they're private living areas and not just open for anyone to walk in whenever they like. If they want privacy, that's what their crew quarters are for. Fortunately, since Karina's expecting at least one pair of visitors, she's not doing anything too embarrassing.
That doesn't quite mean she's ready to greet anyone, however. Any guests popping in will swiftly find out that the hab is alive with the sound of music. Rather than claiming a few miles the way some of her teammates have, Karina's settled for a large, circular exercise room, with lockers and showers off to one side, and a recording studio off to the other. Seems like she's neglected to close the door to the recording studio while she tests the new piano. Music-wise, she seems to have settled on something you'd hear in a lounge rather than the chirpy pop that her Blue Rose persona would probably have suggested.
She won't notice anyone walking into the main room, given the level of noise around her, so sitting and listening to something a little closer to home than the vibra-trance and crystalwave of the future wouldn't be impossible if there's no reason to introduce yourself yet.
Training Gym: Karina's got your average exercise stuff already set up in her hab. It's a bit lower tech than the gym itself, but she's not quite ready to trust all the new stuff that's been put in her way just yet. However, there are some things one just can't practice in the hab areas. Like agility training. The flight ring is a new experience for her and she's determined to test all the ways that it's superior to her usual method of travel.
Besides, she's always been secretly a little jealous of Sky High. Being able to fly is just as amazing as she thought it would be. Now if only she could get the hang of those sharp corners. Karina's spent enough times overshooting and slamming into the walls, now she's moved to twisting and catching herself on them like she's landing from a jump. Every time she does, however, she stops and moves back to the beginning of the obscenely complicated course laid out in front of her. Unlike her time in the hab, however, she seems to be paying attention when she has a guest. On going back to the beginning again, she blinks at the company she's picked up.
"Sorry, were you trying to use this?" If nothing else, it'd give her an excuse to settle down and ice her shoulder a little.

All in all, exploring is just a habit, but now it's actually interesting again now that there's all kinds of novel new shit to see. The Hab Deck is especially fun with all the random chunks of various worlds mashed together. Like a fucking box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get next there.
Today's find is...a random locker room he somehow managed to wander into. Who the hell had gone y'know what I miss from home? Feeling like I'm getting ready for gym class. He pokes around absentmindedly for a little while before the sound of lounge music catches his ear, and he follows the sound because no shit, what else is he gonna do? The locker room makes marginally more sense once he discovers that it's attached to an exercise room, and that that's attached to a cool little recording studio currently occupied by the pro hero girl. Yep, okay, shit kinda makes sense now.
The normal thing to do would probably be to announce one's presence somehow, or quietly leave as to not look like a creep. Dave does neither of these things, and settles against a wall to listen for now. It's probably one of his quietest moments ever, but hey, he respects music.
He's not doing anything to hide himself, though. So sorry for the inevitable moment of noticing the dude all dressed in red and wearing shades just chilling by the side of the room.

...An audience. Well. Karina arches an eyebrow. Not that it's unusual for people to stop and listen to her play music. It is her job after all. But she'd expected this place to be a bit more quiet. She clears her throat and nudges the door open. "Should I have left out a tip jar?"
Training Gym
Usually his training involved work with the sword and spear, strength and agility training, and then working with his abilities. He'd noticed that while they were the same powers from his home universe there were some differences in how much power he had. It was subtle, but it was something he wanted to make sure he knew the limits of and not get caught off guard like he had in the Murder World scenario.
Jason had walked in and noticed it was already being used, but he figured if he worked with his sword he could do that in a small corner without disrupting the other using it. It wasn't until he saw the girl whipping around the corner in mid-air that he realized it was someone he recognized. He winced when he saw her overshoot a wall and hit her shoulder. He could remember the early days when he'd first tried working out how to use his air-powers to fly. There had been a few too many bloody noses and cracks in walls for his liking.
He wondered if he should offer some advice, but he wasn't sure if that would be well received or not. Jason turned to head for a corner, but paused when he heard her ask about using the training gym. "Oh," he paused, "Not really. I can just got over here and work with my sword." He eyed her shoulder, "Are you okay? Careful you don't dislocate it. I did that once...it wasn't fun."

Ah, wait. He'd actually asked. She waved a hand with a small, if pained, smile. "I'm fine. Really." See? She's wiggling her fingers. "I'm just not used to thinking like I've got a rocket attached to my hand, that's all. Braking is something I'm used to doing, not thinking."

Jason glanced up at the rings spread around the room and at various levels in the air. "It does take awhile to get used to maneuvering in the air. You can't just think about moving back and forth or left and right." He smirked, turning to look at Karina again, "On the plus side you're just dealing with rings. Try learning to fly when people are shooting at you with various projectiles. Definitely not as easy." He'd been flying well before he'd gotten here, honestly the only adjustment he'd had to make was learning to fly with the ring as opposed to just relying on his control of the winds. "It's not really a rocket though...maybe that's where you're going wrong?"
no subject
She didn't smile back, just staring sullenly at the rings. "I've been shot at." It was never fun. Especially since she didn't have armor. One thing to change while she's here, but later. Once she's figured out flying and any new points she'd want armored. Karina paused, then looked at the ring. "How do you handle it? I just stick my hand out in front of me and try to let it lead."

Jason considers the question. Explaining how flying work had never been a strong suit. It was like trying to explain how to walk or swim, he imagined, because honestly he felt demonstrating or doing it was easier than trying to talk about it. "Well the ring works a little differently from my normal flying. I can control the air, so usually it's easier to treat it like swimming if you're upright or if you go completely horizontal it's a bit easier if you keep your body streamlined. I need to keep the wind around me so I don't fall." He looked down at the ring on his hand, frowning slightly, "This thing isn't like that. It's more like the ring cancels gravity or something. I'm not sure, but it's definitely not manipulating the air. So with this I don't feel like I have to worry about wind resistance and lift as much." Jason directed his attention back to Karina, "So that makes sense the way you're flying. I think like walking there probably isn't really a wrong way to do it."

So he slipped into the room quietly, looking around at how impressive it was, creating a whole new location inside.
Then the green flame came flying at his head.
He yelped and stumbled back, covering his head with his hands and falling just under the flame.

Probably a good thing she'd ordered that. As she stood and rounded the pillar, Lunatic floated half-way through a flip in front of them, flaming crossbow aimed at Yuuri. That wouldn't have ended well. Karina wasn't foolish enough to disable all of the safeties, but she knew that she wouldn't take things seriously enough without some level of injury possible.
Sighing, she holstered her guns and stalked over to Yuuri, planting her hands on her hips. "You know, you could get hurt that way. Why weren't you paying attention to the occupied sign?" ...That sounded a lot more 'irritated' than 'concerned'.

"I wanted to see the room while it was being used."
He wanted to see the space future holograms.
...And was very impulsive. It hadn't even occurred to him to wait his turn. The room was being used, ergo he could look in it.
"What is this place?"
It definitely looked like a...place. Like somewhere that already existed. And the guy looked too strange to be a made up generic mook.

"I'd lowered some of the safety protocols," she snipped. "It might not have killed you, but I wouldn't want to explain to Brainiac 5 that the second time I'd used this combo I'd burned a fellow Legionnaire's eyebrows off."
She stepped back. There wasn't any point in repeating the lecture. And he'd asked a question, after all. "I had Brainiac 5 connect the Anywhere Machine to the sim room's computer so I could bring up places from home without having to go through the hassle of programming them in." She had techs for that back home. "This is Sternbild's jail. That," she reached up and jabbed a finger towards the masked man, "Is Lunatic. A vigilante killer who's been plaguing us for the past year. I've never had the opportunity to face him one on one and see who'd come out on top." And, truth be told, she wasn't really doing so hot. Most of her battle had been a running one. It really was much easier when she had someone else to draw his fire.

The apology was reflexive. She still intimidated him a little.
"Vigilante killer?" He wasn't sure what to make of that. "Er. Was he a vigilante that killed people or someone that killed vigilantes?"
Both sounded a little ridiculous to him. It felt strange to have those words coming out of his mouth in utter seriousness. But he was trying to accept all of this was real now, even though his life had suddenly taken a turn that made it seem like fiction.

She shook her head. Either one would be bad enough, wouldn't it? "The first one. He was the only vigilante." Thankfully. Tiger and Barnaby could fight him off, but... Well, they couldn't be around every time.
Karina moved to the controls of the room, tapping a few things. The fires simply blinked out of existence and the stray ice everywhere started to crack and shatter, melting swiftly when it hit the floor. No point in continuing that fight if she was going to lose, and the mood had already been ruined.
"Were you planning on using this place, or just seeing what it could do?"
