Movie Night II: The Moviening [Open]
Who| Wash and anyone who wants to come
What| Movie night!
Where| A large, nice lounge on Legion World
When| A few days after Murderworld and the night after the Anon Meme went up
Warnings/Notes| They're watching the Lion King. This should be interesting
It's been a few days since everyone's arrived back from Murder World, and the Anon Meme went up yesterday. Everyone needs a breather. It's time to watch a movie.

He doesn't say anything right away this time, though. Just stares at Wash with an arched eyebrow, the look somehow obvious and pointed despite the shades.

So, like the responsible adult he is, he ignores Dave, pointedly and entirely. He knows there's an I told you so coming down the line; that doesn't mean he wants to hear it.

"I warned you about The Lion King, bro," he says, grinning widely for some reason. "I told you, dog."

He gives Dave a short sideways glance and returns to looking straight ahead. Time for a different tactic. "Nice to see you're so happy at your teammates getting upset," he says, very deftly shifting blame. "Way to be a team player."

Was that analogy too crude? Ah well, fuck it. Too late now.
"If it's any consolation--" he ventures, shrugging slightly, "And I'm sure it isn't, because wow, making Kubo sad? You should feel bad -- but if it helps at all, Karkat is pretty much contantly emotional about everything ever."
It's just. Usually anger.

"Okay, one," he finally starts after a moment or two of awkward silence, "I'm getting you a thesaurus, or a book of poetry, or something, because that was messed up-" Just because Dave's swearing up a storm doesn't mean Wash isn't going to self-censor in front of a teenager. "-And I never want to hear you say anything like that again. Two, you can either console me or blame me, but pick one and stick with it. Otherwise you wreck them both. Three, using Kubo is a cheap shot and you know it."

The response he does eventually get, however, is met with just an eyebrow arched at that oddly parental lecture, mouth twitching like he isn't sure whether to be amused or a little disturbed by it.
"What's a thesaurus gonna do besides provide me with new and creative ways to same the same shit? Though I resent the implication that I need one. My vocabulary is broad and varied as hell, I know my fuckin' SAT words. And poetry's a dead end too, my sis spent years shoving her purple prose under my nose."
Granted, Rose's poetry was about as creative as Dave's speech in general. She once wrote him a poem about his Bro's pornographic puppets. So probably not the kind of poetry Wash has in mind.
"And I can totally do both at once. I'm a master of multitasking like that. Caring and ripping into a person all at the same time, wow. For instance, I can defend against these lame attempts at redirection and still remember who actually fucked up tonight. And on that subject, you're shit at redirection."
