They need this. After all the bullshit that's gone down, on both a personal and mission-level scale, they really need time to relax and just not think about it for a while.

Which is why Wash is once again setting up the lounge for a movie night. He's put some thought into this one (because he needs a distraction too, dammit). Nothing traumatizing, because life has already taken care of that for a good lot of them; nothing too violent, for the same reasons; no emotional onscreen deaths, because that had been a disaster last time he'd tried; and they really could use something lighthearted.

So he'd picked Aladdin.

The projector is ready to go; the chairs and sofas are arranged to have a view of the screen; the snack and drink table is heavily laden, with spaces for people to bring some to share if they want; and the sign is once again by the entrance, with the movie's title, MPAA rating, a brief summary, and the ever-present law of these events: Movie night is neutral territory.

Before the movie

Robbie looks at the sign on the door dubiously. He raises an eyebrow at it and everything, because Aladdin seems to be tempting fate in more ways than the normal movie. One, there's a very good chance that the dialogue may have been changed to make it less gross about the attempts to force marriage on Jasmine. Two, Robbie knows the original Aladdin backwords and forwards, including every drop of soundtrack.

He is tempted to join in tonight and essentially pretend its a Rocky Horror showing. It's not like he has anything else planned. He'll just... stick his head in and see who's around.

Wash

Wash can be seen puttering around the room, fluffing pillows and blankets, rearranging the snack table ever so slightly to make more room, and just generally keeping himself busy. It's all busy work - he's pretty damn sure that the adjustments aren't necessary and nobody's going to notice if they're not done, but it keeps his mind off things, and that's going to have to be good enough.

He finally places his own plate of snacks on the end table by a sofa and flops down on the sofa. He can relax for a few minutes before he starts the movie. It's fine.

Not that Barry really cared.

"Just to check, are you going to smack me if I start singing along, aren't you?"
