Who| Drift and you!
What| Various shenanigans before shit goes down.
Where| All around Legion World
Warnings/Notes| drinking and embarrassing conversations, probably
a. a change of scenery
Driving is the perfect way to blow off a little steam, and Drift has that in spades lately. He's trying to find the equanimity in Megatron's presence here, but he's struggling, especially with Megatron always finding ways to antagonize him, trying to get a rise out of him. It's made it hard to relax even in his biome, connected as it is to Megatron's, and so he thinks maybe it's time for a change of scenery.
So he takes to other biomes instead. It's about time he got around to exploring some of the others, anyway, and a variety of them make for pretty good driving. He finds himself enjoying the streets of the New York City sections in particular -- it almost reminds him of his drift racing days in Japan.
b. holomatter time
Drift has, admittedly, been avoiding the shopping area where he'd encountered Megatron for the first time, and with good reason -- there's been plenty of chatter online about the encounter because Primus had there ever been witnesses. And so much of the speculation is about his debatably intimate history with Megatron, and Drift would love to not ever have to deal with that in public.
But he would like to explore the shops some more, mostly out of curiosity, and the fountain he'd been spending time at before had been so soothing. So he sends his holomatter avatar out instead -- a solid hologram he can receive sensory feedback from, more or less an extension of himself, and a normal-sized human, at that. But while his avatar might look human, Drift's mannerisms are still more or less the same, and he'll be perusing shops full of unfamiliar items with unmasked curiosity and, most likely, confusion.
c. get your drink on
Sometimes you just really need a drink.
All the meditation and robot sword katas in the world only go so far, even if Drift's loath to admit it, and though he's done plenty of other things to blow off steam and recenter himself, sometimes a good drink is what you really need to relax. And he could stand to have a little fun, too. So Drift can be found someplace where they serve refined fuel or something like it, drinking alone unless someone decides to join him.

Bag in hand, she turns to leave and almost brushes past Drift without a second glance, but one of her periodic internal sensor checks--she's even more paranoid since the Brainiac 8 affair--returns some interesting data.
"Huh. Nice hologram."
Trust her. She knows a few things about creating holographic representations.

"Oh -- thank you, although I can't really take the credit myself. It's supposed to be an intuitive avatar generator designed by -- " He almost says a friend of mine (insofar as Brainstorm is anyone's friend; it might be a bit of a generous term), but stops himself, realizing he doesn't really know how to talk about his old companions on the Lost Light now that he no longer belongs there himself. His avatar's smile brightens. "By a brilliant, if a bit, er, mad, engineer. I'm Drift."
He extends a hand in greeting. "How could you tell so quickly, by the way? Most people here don't seem to give it a second glance."

"You're not the only one who's more than meets the eye," she says with a smirk, scanning everything the Legion World computers have on him between words. ...Oh, boy. Drama. "Cortana. I'm the Master Chief's AI partner."

"Pleased to meet you, Cortana. I think you're the first AI I've ever met." People keep asking him if he's an AI, which was getting a little troublesome, but he's never actually spoken to one himself. "What's your avatar made of, if you don't mind my asking?"
