It's been an odd few weeks, to say the least. Wash barely waits to be out of the hospital before he heads to the lounge to set up a movie night. He's had a request for a classic, and he'd managed to get in an order for the film before everything had gone batshit insane, so it's already arrived and he's just about ready to go.

The usual snacks and drinks are set up, along with a few mugs and goblets that are a little closer to theme. There's also the usual sofas and couches, draped with blankets and with bean bag chairs strewn around around the room. The usual sign hangs outside the door, with the movie's MPAA rating and a brief summary of the movie's plot, along with the usual note: Movie night is neutral territory.

The movie tonight, of course, is The Princess Bride.

"It's not that old, though. Eleven months?" Time travel sometimes really put everything into perspective. That perspective being Wash was choosing movies that hadn't been made yet, or were still fairly recent in her own time. "No, less than that. Ten or so, I think."

Miku offered Pidge a bowl of the anmitsu she'd brought with her. "Do you like fruit...? I brought this under the impression that people were going to want fruits."

"In your time, yeah," Pidge says with a little chuckle, "but this movie was old when my grandparents started dating."

"Sure...But, uh, what is it?" Pidge does like fruit, she's just never seen this particular kind of fruit before. She accepts it anyway because, hey, with Miku she can trust that this probably came from earth.

"Anmitsu... ah.. sort of like a sweet jelly with fresh fruit." Some of it looked familiar: kiwi, strawberries, a bit of segmented orange without the pithy peel stuck to it. There were also apparently some red beans in the middle, kind of out of place. "Oh, and sweet red beans. Making the jelly is the best part, if I have to be honest."

Pidge had eaten more than half of it before Miku even finished the sentence.

"Well, it's good. Really good. Kind of reminds me of something my friend Hunk would make." And that makes her a little wistful. He and Miku would probably get along really well, honestly.

...Of course, that's not something Miku can really unpack without an explanation, can she?

"Um, by that I mean you're a really good cook. Because he's a really good cook. That's all."

"Oh! Thank you," Miku grinned. "You'll have to tell me more about things you like to eat. I can make Japanese things all the time, but Western foods are sort of... out of my playing field. What sort of things does your friend Hunk make?"

"Since my friends and I ended up in space he mostly cooks space food. And I don't mean astronaut food, I mean things from alien planets. Mostly green nutrient slime."

She grins back. "It kinda just makes you happy to have any food you can't suck through a straw."
