Earth is the multicultural jewel of the United Planets, a world known for its diversity and culture. It's a place where people can find almost anything: any technology, any food, any style of clothing from any world. It's also a place people can learn about other species, from the planetary cultural centers that can be found there -- where aliens engage in cultural practices from back home and share them with others, to theaters and entertainment venues where music and entertainment events, to stadiums where people can catch alien sports like Magnoball, to museums filled with all different works of art from myriad worlds.
And if there is a city that best represents what Earth has to offer, it's New Metropolis, on the North American continent, where both Earthgov and the UP Council are located.

She took it as a joke and smiled at him.
"And yeah, that'd probably be a bad idea and people would think I'm craaazy."
The way she drew that word out even sounded a little crazy, whoops.
"Anyway! Um. Why don't we keep looking around? This place is interesting. There are superheroes back home but nowhere near as many as this."
On account of her city only having just two.

But as his eyes settled on the section dedicated to the "Fourth Flash" and his days as Impulse, he quickly came to the decision that any tiny scrap of information he might find here wouldn't be worth it right now.
"Are there any you're particularly interested in?" He found himself blurting out as he quickly turned his attention back to Marinette. There was something upsetting about the idea of these newcomers finding out that he had a connection to Impulse. He wasn't quite sure why he felt that way (though, perhaps it had something to do with what Brainiac 5 had said about having the opportunity to refine himself beyond how his past had defined him), but it was enough to make him want to guide Marinette as far from the display as he could.

"What about her? Or...them. It looks like there were more than one."
There were a few heroes that had been a part of the Wonder family.
"She looks so...powerful," she said. Right near the entrance of the hall, there were holographic displays of ancient, recovered media footage of her valiantly fighting enemies like some warrior from ancient times.
