Who| Gabriel Reyes & You
What| A Commander Finds Himself on the Moon
Where| Mess Hall > Remnants of Swiss HQ > Wildcard*
When| The thick of Time Ripples
[ Note: Reaper is now unrecognizable without his Edgelord gear, but he still dual wields shotguns. His voice is also very different. ]
I.VAGUELY FAMILIAR BUT NOT
The mess hall is a scene he's familiar with, most of his adult life practically revolved around the camaraderie forged in a packed room of tables and smell of food. Even if it was just slop, or something surprisingly tasty, people bonded over it and was one of the few places soldiers could relax. Hell, even he sometimes found it relaxing. He knows this and yet, the scene before him feels extremely strange. Mostly because there's a lot of people that look like aliens.
It's starting to feel like he's in some sort of fever dream. Maybe he's picked up one two many comic books off the tables in the mess halls, and after one night on a mission of working himself down to the bone, he nodded off....something happened, and this was the result.
"For once, I can't blame the stupid cowboy. He never was much into aliens."
At least, as far as he knew. The kid could be pretty transparent with his hobbies though, so he doubts that's a secret he'd be hiding.
II.WHAT IN THE FRESH HELL--
Swiss HQ is a place he's seen before, though he hasn't really set foot there. He can also recognize a style of architecture (should he become used to it enough), and of course the logo sitting in shambles, which is what makes this discovery all the more disconcerting.
"Shit— is this a threat?!" He speaks to nobody, but mutters sharply under his breath. "Who are these Legionnaires? What the fuck is their deal?"
Someone will have to explain to him that this is a biome, made by his own free will, but be prepared for a face full of angry spitting and fingers being pointed in your face if you insinuate that he had done this...
WILDCARD*
Gabriel likes to remain behind the scenes, and knows the importance of being out of sight when trying to conduct an investigation of unknown surroundings/situations. He won't be out and about that freely, so if there's a situation you want to play out, hit me up on Plurk(@hanshi)! We can hash out a location and go on from there, it's much easier to bring Gabe to a social situation than Reaper sOOOOOOO!!!!

IM CRYING
"At ease, soldier." He catches himself quickly enough to maintain his usual rapport with Amari's kid. Speaking of which...
"Where's your mother?"
If Fareeha is here, then she has to be close by, right? Unless for some unexplained reason, they decided just to take the tactically disadvantageous kid as a super hero stand-in (yeah, he got the memo from asking some employees and putting 2+2 together) and left their superstar sniper behind. Sounds like the actions of a kidnapping/ransom situation, if you ask him.
/offers tissues
"I don't know. You're the first person I've recognized." She'd thought it was a kidnapping as well, but didn't think they'd be given as much free range as they have been if that were the case. York had say it was ripples in time, which didn't sound possible, but then she's see a lot today that shouldn't have been possible. "I've met some very nice people though." It doesn't make up for not having her mother, but she's trying to be stoic here.
"Have you seen anyone else?"
thank u
All inner monologues and paranoia theories aside, he tries to keep the air of calm and casual around her. It's the least he can do, and if Ana truly isn't here, it's his responsibility now to take care of her in the meantime. He doesn't want her getting hurt, not to mention Ana would kick his ass from here to Sunday if he didn't.
"Nice, eh? That's...good to hear," he replies, nodding. Definitely a relief. At least she hasn't run into any problems here, so that's a good sign. "Yeah, ran into Lena Oxton. You remember the new cadet, right?"
Even if Gabriel isn't the greatest around children, he always made an effort to be more conversational around Fareeha. He related to her on some level, being a military kid himself growing up.
ur welcome :3
She could sense something about Gabriel being more stalwart; anyone else would have gotten tackled with a hug at this point, but for him she'd made a special exception and gave him a salute instead.
"Do you know why we're here?" She's heard everything about them being superheroes and saving all time, but it was a large thing for a kid to swallow - even a bright kid like herself - and she wanted the opinion of someone she knew she could trust.
no subject
"No, not yet," he says quickly, but he knows the gist of the Legionnaires program. "Something's fishy, but like you said. Not openly hostile. They didn't hurt you or Oxton, from what I can tell. Nobody here's tense, or unhappy."
Which can either be the truth, or a great cover. However unlikely, he believes in evidence and would much rather be safe than sorry. Even if that means making a few people uncomfortable. Maybe even threaten them a little, depends on his mood.
"Willing to bet you're more informed than I am." He smirks slightly at her, shrugging as he does.

Gabriel and Lena would make sense, but she shrugs, "I don't know why they'd want me, unless ..." Unless it had something to do with her mother.
no subject
"Hey, hey, we don't know what their reasons are, yet," he starts, his voice a touch gentler than usual. "but we'll figure it out. No matter what the circumstances, we've got this."
He still doesn't like this place and how they went about snatching people out of their homes, but he also really hopes he doesn't have to do anything drastic. It's just him and Oxton so far, and while her skills are impressive, he doubts that'd be enough to take on this... Legion. The name already sounds big. Bigger than Overwatch ever was.
"So let's say we do some recon, hm?"
no subject
"Where do we start?"
no subject
He looks to her, expectantly. Almost a bit comically so, like he's putting her in charge of this mini-mission.
"How much ground have you covered so far, Amari?"
no subject
She thinks about the places she's been and what they were like, and if anything needed additional recon. "The living spaces seemed pretty standard ... we'd probably learn more from the habitats."
