[Gwen's been trying to bounce back from all the craziness that's happened since she left. For the most part, she can deal just fine but it's always in the back of her mind. Like a constant pressure that she can't really get rid of.

Her dad's still in jail, Murdock's the only one who can help with that, and her powers are still on an on-demand only.

At least back here that last one is fixed. And honestly, it feels good. Really good.

Anyways, she's never really gone in before, and pushes and buzzes on the intercom.]

Barry? It's me, your favorite neighborhood Spider-Gwen.

"Come on in. I'm down in the Speed Lab working on some stuff for Grif's training sessions. Just take the elevator down to B1."

Gwen eventually finds herself in a 2-story room, the first containing a treadmill and several pieces of monitoring equipment, while the second is an elevated track. Barry is busy erecting several barriers that look to be built out of wood and tissue paper.

Gwen would've wanted to know what the hell a "speed lab" actually was. And it was convenient that she found out almost immediately. "... Huh. Cool." The name actually made sense, now. She sort of approached the treadmill, leaning in to look at it.

"So this is all to train people with super-speed, yeah?"

[rushing_by]

"Pretty much. My buddy Cisco designed it. The whole room is set up to monitor a speedster's speed and vitals," Barry said as he finished wrapping paper over one of the barriers.

"Right now, I'm setting it up to teach Grif how to vibrate his molecules fast enough to phase through solid objects. The first time is easier at a run, so I didn't want to start off with regular walls." he explained. While a brick wall would be more of an incentive to learn quickly, Barry honestly didn't think he'd be able to convince Grif to attempt to run through one.

"So, what brings you to S.T.A.R. Labs?"

[deafleppard]

"Well, you know. I kind of just got back here after first experience with actual time travel. Heard what you had to say about the whole... going back in time and punching yourself." Which was still really, really weird. "And thought I'd stop by to just have a chat."

But also, admire the lab.

"You know, I have a friend back home. He'd probably get a real kick out of checking this place out."

[rushing_by]

"I can imagine." He says with a bit of a chuckle. "I had the same reaction the first time I came here. Well, after I woke up from the coma that got me sent here in the first place, anyways."

Stapling the paper into place, he stretches and explains further. "Getting hit by a lightning bolt during a particle accelerator explosion and getting knocked into a cartful of chemicals might have given me my powers, but it also knocked me unconscious for about nine months."

[deafleppard]

"Ouch. And here all I did was get bitten by a radioactive spider and bam. Spider-powers, activate." Though it reality, it could've turned out a lot worse.

Don't try it at home, kids.

[rushing_by]

"Yeah, I don't recommend it." He said wryly.

"Anything interesting happen back home while you were there, or did you get a nice, boring vacation out of the deal?"

[deafleppard]

"A lot happened, actually." Nice and boring vacation would've been better compared to all the stuff she went through.

"Dad's in prison and I lost my powers." Fun times to be had by all.

[rushing_by]

"Ah." Neither of those issues were fun to deal with. Barry was intimately familiar with that fact, having been through both.

"Want to talk about it? It's alright if you don't, but soeaking as someone who's been there? It does help."

Gwen's been told that talking about her problems is way better than just keeping them bottled up. Doesn't particularly mean that she enjoys talking about those issues, especially when they bring up particularly painful memories.

"A really bad guy, he kept coming after me. Knew that I was Spider-Woman and knew that my dad used to be a cop. He wouldn't... leave us alone, wanted to expose me to the world." Like she didn't have enough problems already.

"Oh, everyone back homes thinks I'm a criminal, by the way."
