The Legion Leader is IN

Who| Kid Quantum and Widowmaker, Kid Quantum and Tracer
What| Kid Q gets a report and gets her Legion Leader on
Where| Kid Q's office
When| After THIS disaster
Warnings/Notes| Futuristic cussing.

Kid Quantum does a lot of swearing when she gets the heads up from Wash. She literally does not have the time for this nass, but here it is, right on top of her already-overfull plate.

In this particular case, Tracer is effectively a speedster, so instead of trying to hunt her down in person, Kid Quantum flicks through the security feeds, looking for one or both of the women in question. She finds them on the Obs Deck, but the fight is over before she can send anyone to break it up.

Okay. Fine.

She fires off a message to the Hub so that the Kwai know not to take Tracer off of Legion World, and to the ship pilots so that they know the same. If she hauls Tracer in now, she's going to say something she'll probably regret, and she needs to talk to Widowmaker first anyway.

What a sprocking fun couple of hours this is going to be.

She follows through without hesitation, subconsciously checking the corners of the room in spite of herself as she steps further inside. No plans to run -- but when you subsist on vigilantism, you know to always keep an escape route in your back pocket anyway.

The door closes behind her and she finishes closing the distance. Nervous energy keeps her from taking a seat. Lena doesn't bother to speak again, and instead glances awkwardly over at Kid Quantum's scrutinization of her omnicom.

There's a sassy reply on the tip of her tongue, an automatic reply born from a problem with authority that she suppresses on the basis of old preprogramming. Instead, she just frowns, and sighs out of her nose a little.

"I don't," is how she chooses to reply, admonished but slightly defensive.

There's no way to stop herself from making a face when Kid Quantum stands, mostly of indignation of being accused of not respecting the Legion for doing what she felt was the correct course of action. There's a space between their replies, like she takes a honest to god moment of trying to be polite before she simply loses control of her tongue.

"Last time I 'esitated for proper authorities who were supposed to be takin' care of 'er, and someone died," Lena replies, unable to keep the bitterness out of her voice. "And I'll take a handful of disrespect if it prevents it again."

In spite of her conviction, she folds her arms underneath her accelerator and shifts uncomfortably. "'sides, I barely touched 'er. I don't kill people."

At least, not without exhausting every other avenue.

Lena shifts her weight to her other hip, shoulders relaxing a little the longer Kid Quantum talks. Its more familiar, to hear someone talk about greater law jurisdiction in comparison to peacekeeping ops -- like a language she knew, but never got to use. She doesn't bother telling the other woman that she doesn't need or want her back watched, that she'd been working on her own for longer than she would have liked, because she's not wrong -- it's better to keep your enemies close.

She doesn't like it. Really, there's no winning solution if nobody is willing to lock them down -- she doesn't miss the notation about Reaper, and that's what causes her to finally unfold her arms. He wasn't to be dismissed -- if anything, he was more dangerous than Widowmaker, as he was seemingly invincible.

"Her target was a pacifist -- one of the few standin' between another war on Earth. So you can understand why I didn't call, when everyone else's more interested in arguin' intent on it, and givin' 'er the benefit of the doubt," Tracer offers, exhaling through her nose. But the idea that the person in charge at least seems to have her head screwed on straight encourages her to back down.

"Anyway...message received."

Lena shifts, still not entirely comfortable with the idea of being told to sit back and trust that other people will handle it -- but then again, she hasn't much choice in the matter. Hopefully, her trust would be easy to earn -- it didn't really take much.

"I'm the only choice for that," Lena offers pointedly. Maybe too pointedly. "...ma'am."

Regardless of whether or not it was her assigned duty, there was no way she'd be taking her eyes off Widowmaker or Reaper. It wasn't a question if they would snap, it was just when.
