Azula intro [open]
Who| Azula
What| Step 1 of Azula's Plan forWorld Legion Domination: Meet & Greet
Where| Crew Quarters
Warnings/Notes| N/A
This was certainly the most interesting that had happened to Azula for a long, long time. And naturally, she meant to make the most of it.
She looked around. She was in some sort of barracks, she'd heard them called crew quarters. While each person had a fair amount of space to themselves, more than any soldier in the Fire Nation, it was not what Azula was used to.
But still better than where she'd been before.
Of course, where she was didn't exactly matter. Azula knew to succeed her, she would have to have allies. Or at least people who thought she considered them allies. Which meant she had to leave this room and go out there.
She headed to the door, then paused. It had been so long since she was last on the outside. For a moment, she wondered if she could do it. It had been a long year in that facility and she didn't want to go back.
"I'm being ridiculous," she told herself. "I am the rightful leader of the Fire Nation and the most powerful firebender in the world. I'll have this Legion bowing before in no time."
And so she headed out, head held high, looking for people who would be useful to her.

She was also impressed - perhaps even overwhelmed - by the scale of the room. And how many different people were here. She'd known the Legion was large but knowing and seeing were very different things.

Jason was glad he wasn't the only one blown away by the size of everything. He shook himself out of it and turned to Azula again. "Come on, I think I see where you can get your food. Looks like they have it set up like a restaurant where you place an order or something." He gestured across the hall, they'd have to weave through a TON of people, but it was a pretty straight shot and actually pretty welcoming.

She looked in the direction that Jason gestured but nothing looked familiar at all to her. But she knew that the technology here was very different from back home and so nodded. "Let's go then."
She started walking through the crowd, wondering if it would be against Legion rules to use her firebending to clear a path. Probably.

It wasn't long before Jason reached the other side where the food service began. There were a few people milling in lines and waiting food. Jason looked over his shoulder to make sure Azula had followed in his path. "What look good to you?" He gestured towards the menus hanging around and noticed that some indicated that they could also do special requests.

After talking about the komodo sausages, Azula found herself really wanting to each some. It had been far too long since she had any. She walked over to the area where she could put in a special request. "I would like some komodo sausage," she ordered.

And fries of course. Couldn't have a proper cheeseburger with fries. His food would be brought out to him shortly so he turned to Azula, "Guess we go find a seat then. Are they going to be able to get your sausage?"

She turned and looked out at the tables. Like the rest of the room, they were pretty full. But she saw two empty seats nearby and immediately walked over to claim them. When it appeared as those another Legionnaire was going to sit down there, she sent him running with a will-timed glare. "Here we are."

He decided to focus on the topic of her home. That seemed like it could generate some interesting conversation. "So you mentioned being a fire bender. I'm guess there are other elements too?"
no subject
"Yes, there are earth and water benders as well. And there were air benders but they were all killed long before my time." Well, except of course for the Avatar. Which was ironic, given that he was the target of the attacks that killed his fellow benders.

Surprisingly, their food was delivered at about that time. Jason guessed in the future one could prepare meals a lot faster. Jason would have thanked the service, but their service was being conducted by a faceless machine that reminded him a little bit of something from that Disney movie with the robots, only this was less adorable. Still, the food was hot and the robot didn't seem in need of any input from them as it set the food down and then left. Jason pulled his fries and cheeseburger closer, catching the smell of it before it was anywhere near him. It smelled just like something from In-n-Out, which somehow made things even better. "Smells and looks good," he turned back to Azula, "How'd yours come out?"

Her sausage, when it arrived, looked and smelled exactly like it would have back home. She closed her eyes, letting herself enjoy the scent for a moment. "This looks surprisingly good for something not made in the Fire Nation."
no subject
"Well it might smell good, but the true test will be tasting it, right?" Jason didn't need an invitation himself. He just picked up the burger and took a bite, doing his best not to get juices everywhere in the process. The burger, at least, was definitely as good as it looked.

She picked up her sausage and took a bit. It was delicious. "Mmmm, perfect," she said, before taking another bite, and another. It had been so long since she'd had anything decent to eat. Apparently food wasn't a big priority at the facility she'd been trapped in.
