"Well, no. Not all of it." He can't, really. But he knows the helpless feeling, the fear, and being not really okay but managing. His entire life has been a long string of being 'not really okay but managing.'

He was also from a culture that didn't really have stories of the Tooth Fairy, or whoever...this was. That's going to be an interesting conversation.

"It feels like one of your senses is cut off. Or like your head is wrapped in cotton. To me, anyway. I didn't realize how much I depended on feeling the presence of people around me until I couldn't."
