He does try to listen, tries not to speak over Robbie. It's not entirely true, of course, but the ways that he feels he's let Robbie down are ways that he never had control of in the first place and Dr. Ry'kerr has been working with him about letting it go.

Survivor's guilt is a terrible thing, after all.

It takes a few moments, but he looks up at Robbie. "I can't say that I won't sometimes worry about it, but I'll do my best to accept it." It's not going to be easy, but he can try.
