Rico was engineered by human hands in the same way he presumes Drift to have been, after all. Zenyatta's best efforts has made him see a slightly new perspective in regards to robots, but more of a misguided shift along the wrong tracks. In his timeline, Mega-City One is still two decades away from the first Robot Wars, and even further from awarding rights to them. Construction droids, robo-butlers and war droids are just about the sum of his entire experience.
