Connie squeezes her fingers, and Carolina finally shifts her hand to thread her fingers through Connie's. She looks suddenly like she's less about to drift off, fighting the drugs a little more - and Carolina will do anything she can to encourage that, even if she knows eventually, Connie might fall asleep.

"I'm glad you tried." That is the truth, even if ultimately it lead to her death. And then Carolina hears that comment, and she laughs, high.
