For now, the click-click-click seemed to be moving away, or was at least indistinct enough to not be close at hand. At times it stopped entirely as the two surveyed the gruesome landscape for sight of their quarry.

The closest device, meanwhile, appears to be tucked into one of the open ribcages holding a bleeding, beating heart, thudding away with a few yards of their hiding spot.
