And worked on helping my friend, the AI that'd helped me control them, realize he'd lost it and needed help."
She was digging. What was she thinking? Why was she -- oh. Oh, he thought he had an idea of what she was digging at.
Of course. Back home, he had a rep to coast on. Even back on Earth, he'd become fairly well respected.

"If you're wondering why I'm tripping all over myself, it's because one of my usual powers is complete body awareness. At full power, I can do a hairpin turn at near lightspeed and going from that to being normal means almost having to learn to walk again. Last time I lost them -- the time I was dying -- I was clumsy like I am now. So clumsy I crashed my dad's car into a fire hydrant trying to drive."
He raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not making all my experience up, if that's what you're thinking."
