Tex understands being programmed, understands simply knowing what she's meant to know, but in her database everything she was programmed with involves how to best kill, how to punch, how to maim. Knowledge of things like the stars isn't innate for her.

Somehow, she's not surprised to hear references to the UNSC, or to Reach. There have been enough people she's run into here that came from her universe. The fact that the woman refers to having a complete database leads to one simple conclusion, though— "You're an AI," she says.
