Any chance he could ward Kubo off? Doubtful, the kid was too sweet and thoughtful for his own good, let alone to abandon a sad friend. Dave briefly considered just letting Kubo get his mom and doing their awkward lab floor picnic, but the idea rubbed him the wrong way. Something about seeing other people here felt wrong. After three years of living in this space with nothing but a couple of aliens and his sister, having this human kid sitting there on the floor felt trippy. Like something that didn't belong, someone intruding on a place that mattered a lot to him despite all the frustration and boredom associated with it.
Or maybe that was just the depressive mood talking. He didn't think he'd really mind showing the others here the meteor normally.
"Ughhh." Groaning, Dave sat up, the cape slipping back off his head. He half-assedly ran a hand through his hair to smooth it back down and reached for his shades. "You're not gonna let up on this so let's just go. I don't feel like doing the redundant reluctance and well-meaning pestering bit back and forward for ten minutes only to end up giving in eventually no matter what."
