Dipper kinda thought the bragging about the gun thing was maybe not the best idea but at the same time, he totally understood the urge to. He and his family had indulged in more than one victory chant of their own last name during the summer, and he didn't always put thought to consequences.

Wash looked waaaay too sad for having done something that was pretty understandable. So Dipper tramped over and stood in front of him, blocking his view of the water.

And then he started ranting and waving his arms.

"I don't care what Brainy said about how my sister and I aren't technically kids; we are kids--" more than Wash even knows "--and I think trying to use the 'oh no, think of the kids!' thing to guilt you was totally lame." A pause. "And maybe even goshdarn manipulative. Yeah, I said it! Manipulative."

He didn't like it. It didn't really come from a bad place, since they were worried about the people on board the ship, but they'd chosen what would cause the maximum amount of guilt.

And it wasn't fair, not when he was one of the people that Dipper had run into that'd taken the most care with some of his younger teammates so far.

"You've thought about me too many times for anyone to have a right to try to make you guilty for like the one time you didn't ask someone else for help as fast as you maybe should've." He frowned. "And the biggest reason that was dumb anyway was because you should ask for help right away in case you ever get in trouble, and need someone looking out for you. What if he got back up and chased after you, and got you from behind or something?"
