Meanwhile, Robbie is making his way to Brainiac's lab for completely non-related reasons. He's offered his services as a button pusher as a way of pre-paying for the heavy favor he hopes to someday call in, and he thinks he should see when that's supposed to start.

The ear piercing shrieking and the repeated banging reach him the second he hits the same corridor. Five seconds later, Robbie's running into the room and skidding to a halt amid very, very familiar energy bubbles.

So familiar, he looks down at himself as if they might be his.

And then, he sees an orange cat, the source of half the shrieking, go whizzing by his face, followed by the other half of the racket, Mabel Pine.

He knows that cat. "Oh my god, Brainy, I am so sorry for this one."

And then cringes, because the next pwong is overshadowed by the sound of shattering crystal. "I can get him if she stops spooking him - how the heck did Niels end up here?"
