"Is there some sort of problem with the food? I really didn't get to eat much of it before coming here, and it's certainly strange to my palate, but no one's told me anything yet."

The future isn't experiencing a famine, is it? Or are some of the crops disease-ridden? These are the concerns that jump to Rebecca's simple mind because she's the purest person in the hallway.

"And what's 'TV'?" She's seen one, of course, but when one is spending time in a hospital, there are way too many screens to ask questions about. "I don't...you see, I don't have most of these things where I come from."

She's a little embarrassed to admit that, and she shifts her stance just slightly, fidgeting.
